Miles "Tails" Prower is a genius fox with two tails. Miles Prower is short for "Miles per hour." Tails is also Sonic's
number one fan.
Character Summary: A fox with two tails. His mechanical ability to build machines is equal to that of Eggman.
Real name: Miles Prower
Age: 8 years old
Species: Fox
Height: Roughly 3'10 (give or take an inch or two)
Weight: Unrevealed (I'd say lighter than most human kids his age)
Nationality: None
Occupation: None (not even to finance the machines he used to make)
The epic of Tails started perhaps a year or perhaps even 2 years ago if you look back at the end of Sonic Heroes (you know how little time goes by between the games and all). This fox started off somewhat humble compared to the many events
he would later be destined to accomplish. The origin of which I speak takes place on South Island back when Tails was but
youngster who was lovingly referred to as "Tails" by his peers due to his amazing extra appendage, the origin of which nobody
knows or seems to care. At this time, his head was delved into thoughts of Sonic and he was surprisingly mature for his age given the fact that he had to fend for himself given his lack of parents, not
there by some unexplained condition. Ever since he could comprehend thought, this fox wanted to be just like the world famous
hero, Sonic the Hedgehog. Every day young Miles would go on about how cool Sonic was and mimic him. As the days went by, he
eventually performed an inferior Spin Dash. Though nothing compared to Sonic's everyone who knew Tails was astonished. It
was also during this time period that Tails learned how to twist his namesake together and perform what is possible the most
unorthodox and bizarre form of transportation. This movement was Tails' uncanny ability to fly in the air by spinning his
tails in the same fashion as a helicopter spins its blades. In addition to flying, Tails could also keep his tails positioned
lower to allow him to hover over the ground at speeds almost as fast Sonic's. It was at this moment that the two met. At first,
Sonic treated his new companion in the same way as a somewhat cruel older brother as he would often speed right out of Tails'
range, leaving miles (ha ha) between the two. However, Tails always managed to faithfully and determined to is idol.
During the duo's first adventure together, Sonic's arch nemesis, Doctor Robotnik resurfaced from his previous defeat at
the hedgehog's hands. This time however, a mere army of Badniks wasn't his main objective. This time, the mad man sought to
conquer the world with his flying base, the Death Egg. With the scientist hard at work at making the world bend to his whim,
Sonic and Tails immediately took off to ensure that tyranny would not rule. This being Tails' first quest, he was lacking
in skill and often took heavy damage while Sonic strained to keep the two of them alive and defeat his enemy. However, Tails
wasn't just a thorn in his hero's side as there were crucial moments in which he was of great service to their efforts. The
greatest example of this was when the young fox, at only the age of at the most 8, manned Sonic's biplane, the Tornado. Tails
showed an unnatural amount of genius and interest in machines as he not only piloted the vehicle spectacularly, but even invented
a powerful engine mounted at the plane's lower side to allow to keep up with the Death Egg and fly as high as the base did.
Though outnumbered and outgunned by the armada of Badniks released from the aerial fortress, Tails' skill in a plane and Sonic's
ability to destroy the enemies in mid-air while riding the aircraft proved too much even for Robotnik's army. Eventually,
Sonic and Tails closed in on the menacing Death Egg. Though planning a landing on the base, Tails was shot out of the sky
as the engine was vaporized by a laser. This caused the Tornado to plummet down to the island below as he tried to pull the
vehicle up rather than abandon it. This decision cost Tails the chance to aid Sonic in his attack on the super base as he
waited eagerly for Sonic's return. After some time, explosions began consuming the Death Egg. Tails had only one thought on
his mind: Save Sonic. Despite being warned by newly acquired friends and well aware of how suicidal it was to fly the Tornado
in its weakened condition, Tails didn't care and took off to save his best friend and hero. As Sonic dropped down from the
furthest regions of the stratosphere, he was greeted by the plane and its pilot. Had Sonic indeed needed Tails' help, he might
have congratulated his heroism. But instead, he showed off the recently discovered ability that allowed him to destroy the
Death Egg, his Super Sonic form.
With a happy ending concluding Miles Prower's first journey by his mentor's side, Tails eagerly began work on reconstructing
a suitable engine to power the Tornado as he and Sonic had plans to leave their familiar home and travel across all the various
parts of the globe. During this reconstruction, very little happened to Tails that was note worthy while Sonic was introduced
to his robotic clone, Metal Sonic, and thwarted Robotnik's scheme to go back in time and take over the world using the Time
Stones. It's most likely that Sonic preferred that Tails stay out of the way seeing as how fighting his metal knock-off would
be a dangerous battle. By the time the adventure was over, Tails had finished building a similar engine for the Tornado. Wasting
no time in seeing the world, Sonic and Tails set off in the Tornado.
During their lengthy quest, Sonic and Tails eventually came across a large satellite city called Station Square. Deciding
to check it out, the two animals landed and took a look around. The two of them spent a few days there, becoming regulars
amongst the many citizens. The duo also encountered a place several miles from the city, devoid of the concrete obstacles
referred to as buildings. The only construct in sight was the train station and its train's track that connected this place
to Station Square. This small jungle was called Mystic Ruin, named after the fabled ruined civilization buried deep within
its lush jungle. After some time, Sonic and Tails eventually learned of the existence of a ludicrous floating island high
above the Mystic Ruin's jungle in the sky. With an aroused interest, Sonic and Tails took the Tornado up to the mysterious
landscape. It was here that the two confronted their future ally, Knuckles the Echidna for the first time. But at the time, the three were on different sides as Knuckles was currently tricked by Doctor
Robotnik. Throughout their time spent on Angel Island, following Knuckles to retrieve the stolen Chaos Emeralds, Tails once
again served as Sonic's sidekick. Though still getting into trouble and causing Sonic a few annoyances as he saved him time
and again, Tails also did bring far more to the table than he did last time. Tails aided the blue blur in many ways as he
would carry him through the air to reach difficult locations and saving Sonic from drowning as he pulled him out of the water
with his ability to swim. But despite his useful abilities, Tails was cast to the side once he and Sonic reached the launch
base where the Death Egg re-entered their lives as they found out that Robotnik was planning to use the Chaos Emeralds to
power it and use it once more. As the mechanical monstrosity took off again, Tails was seperated from his hero. He would not
see him until the Death Egg was defeated two more times and Sonic and Knuckles found themselves about to fall off a cliff.
By this time, Tails came in with the Tornado and saved the two of them. This time, Knuckles well aware that he was deceived
and sorry for his foolish behavior, though still not quite friends with them. All seemed to be returning to normal at this
time, until Sonic announced something that would change the fox's life forever. Being somewhat fed up with constantly saving
him, Sonic told Tails that he would be leaving him for a while to get a load off of his shoulders and roam the world a little
more without worrying about anyone. Tails recovered from this news however, and took the time without his idol to construct
a home for himself in the Mystic Ruin area. This home was also his workshop where he persued his interest in machines as he
waited for Sonic's return (he also kept the Tornado with him since Sonic had no use for it).
His home was ingeniously built to provide itself with free energy and running water. But even more wonderous than his house,
Tails built mechanical marvels, one of which was a prototype of a plane that could be powered by a Chaos Emerald and become
more powerful than most machines using an Emerald that he found. Aside from advancing in his hobby, Tails also visited Station
Square frequently and formed many acquaintances among the populous of the city and became somewhat popular to them. Among
these people was Amy Rose who had left South Island (where they originally met) some time ago and began living in the city.
Life was like this for a long time. But one day Tails was flying in his prototype plane and crashed on Station Square's major
hotel's beach, Emerald Coast. Tails was dazed and almost unconcious by the collision. It seemed as though the fox's short
life was about to be ended abrubtly by an explosion by his very own creation. Luckily however, none other than Sonic re-entered
Miles' life as he rescued him from his metalic coffin. As he came to, Tails was estatic with Sonic's arrival and eagerly led
him to his home to show him everything that he has made in their time apart, sure that he would impress his friend. Unfortunately,
the reunion didn't reach its maximum potential as it was interrupted by another reunion. Doctor Robotnik returned to Sonic
and Tails after the long break they had from each other with a brand new scheme. Gone was his Death Egg once and for all.
Replacing it was the ancient deity Chaos (Also being replaced was the fiend's name. From here on out, Sonic coined the term "Eggman" which is what everyone around
Sonic began referring to their enemy.). In his latest plot, Robotnik, or Eggman, planned to capture the seven Chaos Emeralds
and give them to Chaos, making him more powerful until he obtained all seven which would make him invincible. After that,
he had plans to destroy Station Square and remodel it as Robotnikland before taking over the world. As their first battle
in this saga concluded, Tails' Emerald was snatched away from his hands and given to Chaos. Though suffering from a loss,
Sonic and Tails eagerly started another crusade against their foe, with Sonic leading the insecure Tails of course.
After gaining two more Emeralds, both of which Tails held on to, they were ambushed by Robotnik. As he dodged the attack,
Tails dropped one of the Emeralds which Robotnik immediately snatched. Tails blamed himself for the folly, but their adventure
was not hindered. Sonic and Tails found another Emerald to replace their lost one, but then Knuckles, under the influence
that they were after Master Emerald fragments, attacked them and fought Sonic while Tails watched idly. By the end of the
fight, Sonic dropped their Emeralds which were taken by Robotnik again and given to Chaos. Another thing done at this time
was the introduction of Robotnik's Egg Carrier, Robotnik's massive aircraft. As Robotnik and Chaos took off in the vehicle
Sonic and Tails flew the Tornado once more to go after them. On the course of this voyage, Tails utilized his upgrades to
the plane (homing missile launchers, a smaller, more powerful engine, and a machine gun) to take on the menacing ship. Getting
by on his superb talent as a pilot, Tails was able last long enough against the creation, but was eventually shot down by
the Egg Carrier’s Egg Cannon. As the Tornado was destroyed and plummeted down to the ground, Sonic and Tails were separated.
Tails landed just outside his Mystic Ruin home, dreaming of himself following Sonic. Little did he know at the time that this
dream symbolized his dependency on Sonic. As he woke up, Tails found out that he was separated from Sonic and decided to find
another Chaos Emerald to power his finished model of his prototype plane. Tails found this Emerald in the mouth of Big the
Cat’s friend, Froggy. Tails chased around Mystic Ruin after Froggy. Eventually, he caught him and at the same time,
was sent a message about Chaos from Tikal (but that doesn’t really do anything for Tails). With this new Emerald, Tails
set off to utilize his creation to finally defeat Robotnik, though not realizing the importance of his doing something incredibly
important to their plan completely on his own. In his Tornado 2, which was colored blue due to its creator's admiration to
Sonic, Tails flew off to find the Egg Carrier and Sonic. Luckily, he found both at Red Mountain. As Tails’ plane clashed
with Robotnik’s once more, Tails skill and remarkable inventing ability proved too much for even Robotnik’s Egg
Carrier. With the weapons out of the way, Tails landed on the Egg Carrier where he and Sonic eventually made their way to
Robotnik (oh, and Amy was captured too). After the ship started going down, Sonic had Tails fly Amy off the Egg Carrier and
of to safety.
As Tails landed, he and Amy found themselves in Station Square before they split up. Tails began wandering the streets,
unsure of what he would do next. But then his next mission came in the form of a desperate Robotnik. His ship was destroyed
and Chaos defeated by Sonic again, the mad man was going to make good on his promise to destroy Station Square, even if it
killed him, as he launched a missile into the heart of the metropolis. Tails cried at the sight of the approaching genocide,
but was somewhat relieved by the weapon's impact as it turned out that the warhead was a dud. This moment of bliss however,
was cut short as Robotnik was willing enough to chase after the missile and detonate it himself. Tails viewed this desperation
and fell to his knees. On one hand, he knew that Robotnik must be stopped. But on the other, he doubted that he could do it
himself and feably called for Sonic. However, Tails came to the most radical realization of his life at this moment. He knew
that he had learned much from his mentor and that their friendship was truely valuable. But he also matured a bit more during
his time away from Sonic. He came to the conclusion that he couldn't rely on Sonic to save him and thwart Robotnik at every
turn and that he would have to step up too and become his own person. With this new innatiative, Miles chased after his enemy.
As the two geniuses flew through the city, Robotnik taunted his young foe and greatly underestimating him. These actions later
became part of defeat as Tails actually beat Robotnik to the missile and disarmed whatever remanants in it possessed the ability
to destroy the city around them. Not willing to take this lightly, Robotnik summoned his Egg Walker, a massive four-legged
machine armed with many missile launchers, bomb droppers and other weapons, to deal with the city that he had been denied.
He warned Tails to stay out of his way lest the fox wanted to be killed. But this proved to be much different than the mad
man expected as Tails summoned a courage not seen in him before to deal with the menace.
The battle proved to be nerve-racking for both sides as Robotnik faced a talent that he had no idea existed and had mistakenly
underestimated. Despite all of his weapons and intimidation factor over the still frightened Tails, Robotnik actually lost
his duel with the side-kick as his walker's legs were grinded to bits, leaving his Egg-O-Matic pod open to damage. As the
defeated fiend flew away to his Mystic Ruin base to re-think of what he would do, where he eventually fought Sonic again,
everyone in Station Square was surprised and cheered to see that Miles "Tails" Prower took the roll of hero and succeeded.
Most shocked of all however, was the hero himself. He was unable to believe that he had actually beaten Robotnik and finally
realized that he really is capable of solving problems without Sonic's aid. With this victory and boost in confidence,
Tails rushed off to his home where he found Sonic. The two spoke of their adventures, Tails most enthusiastically of course.
It was also at this time that Tails announced that Sonic's temporary vacation from him would become permanent as the fox wanted
to stay friends, but stopped living in his hero's shadow and began to pursue his new dream of making machines thanks to his
victory. Tails new life began after Chaos was defeated once and for all by Sonic in the ruins of Station Square. What remained
of the city (which was more than what the missile would have spared) graciously celebrated their hero's action and gave him
a holiday in their city. The civilians praised Tails for saving them and gave him a Chaos Emerald left behind from the battle
with Chaos to repay him. With this, the fox became an international legend and was announced in thousands of newspapers.
Also during his new life, Tails constructed a new machine at his workshop. It was another biplane that looked exactly like
his Tornado 2 (which was destroyed by Chaos as he took the Emerald inside it), but with several twists. First of all, it was
not powered by a Chaos Emerald, which made it slower and less powerful than the last. Another difference was that when this
one transformed, it turned into a walker mech rather than a super fast fighter jet. This walking Tornado was armed with a
rapid fire gun called the Volcan Cannon (more powerful than normal guns) and a missile launcher aided by a lock-on system
that allowed the warheads to home in on their target (exactly like Gamma's). Soon after completing this machine, Tails received
a startling message on his satellite TV (for some reason, he thought it was necessary to point out the satellite issue). A
news report covering the escape of the Ultimate Life form and the robbery of several banks, destruction of countless robots,
and the theft of one Chaos Emerald all pointed towards Sonic as the culprit as well as report that he was being held in the
super prison, Prison Island. The real thief was Sonic's "look-alike" (though they don't look like it) Shadow the Hedgehog. While the rest of the world was persuaded into thinking that Sonic was now a villain, Tails, unaware that Shadow even existed,
had more confidence in Sonic and rejected the belief that his hero could commit any crime or do any wrong. Tails opposed this
theory so much that he flew off of free his falsely accused friend himself from Prison Island in his new Tornado. As Tails
arrived to the super fortress of Prison Island, he noticed Doctor Robotnik cornering Amy Rose. Though originally there for
Sonic, Tails lent his helping hand to save another friend from death as he activated his Tornado walker in battle for the
first time. Tails fought Robotnik's walker (similar in design to his) differently than he normally fought. Tails was going
to do things his own way now that he wasn't trying to be like Sonic. But even though he believed in himself more than he did
before and had a new perspective on life, young Miles was still nervous going into the duel, as he still not completely sure
of himself (and he would keep this almost lack of confidence throughout the entire adventure). The fight was even and took
longer than Robotnik anticipated. Seeing as how Tails wasn't going to back down, the mad man ended the fight to pursue his
scheme with Shadow and the Eclipse Cannon. With their enemy out of the way, Tails and Amy exchanged stories. It turns out
that Amy was there to save Sonic too. Tails however, wouldn't allow Amy to risk her life and wanted her to stay behind while
he did the dirty work but Amy insisted on coming, so Tails allowed her to ride on his walker as he took out the facility's
defenses. As Tails infiltrated the area where Sonic was being held, he made short work of the G.U.N. robots and eventually
found a key card to Sonic's cell. He gave the card to Amy and helped her into the air vents where she found and freed Sonic.
While Sonic ran into the island's jungle and battled Shadow, Tails reunited with Amy before the trio eventually fled the island
as it blew up (part of Robotnik's plan).
Now a fugitive on the run for freeing Sonic, Tails ran from the police forces aruond them night and day with his friends
(it didn't help that Tails' reputation for saving Station Square made it possible to get recognizable wanted posters through
every city). One day, Robotnik sent a threat to the entire world on every form of media possible. Tails and the others saw
this message on a large public TV. The warning told the citizens of Earth to surrender to his Eggman Empire or they would
suffer a consequence similar to what the Moon would soon experience. This fate was being shot by a massively powerful laser
from the Space Colony Ark. The laser destroyed half of the tremendous satellite, just narrowly missing Earth's surface. Tails,
Sonic, Amy, and the rest of the world gasped in astonishment as they witnessed the destructive force. It was at this time
that Tails knew that Robotnik had gained possession of at least one Chaos Emerald. As he revealed the Chaos Emerald that he
was given in Station Square, he proposed to the plan of tracking the rest of the Emeralds with his own using their magnetic
attraction to each other. With an ace up their sleeves, the trio was ready to start their campaign against their egg-shaped
foe. But first, they would need to find a secluded area to escape the police. Tails took Amy and his walker while Sonic kept
the government forces busy. As Tails found a safe place, he studied his Chaos Emerald and began constructing a false Chaos
Emerald to counter whatever machine Robotnik might be using to harness the real Emeralds' power. This "Fakeoas" Emerald as
I like to call it was designed to give off the same wavelengths and house the same properties as its real counterparts. However,
lacking the true Chaos Emerald power, it was weaker. In a ddition to that, it was designed to reverse the power flow of the
Emeralds and cause Robotnik's machine to explode. Tails also used this time to look for traces of energy from the Chaos Emeralds
but found none. With this inconclusive search, Tails theorized that Robotnik must be using the Emeralds in space. Though the
belief was logical and proven to be correct, Tails had no way of knowing if it was true or not or even where Robotnik was.
With this in mind, the fox hacked into the limo of the American President using his Tornado's computer and found that Robotnik
was transmitting a message to him. The limo was close and Tails pursued it, telling Sonic where to meet him so that they could
find the President via walkie-talkie (oh, and Knuckles joined their side at this point too). Following the signal from the
limo, Tails followed after it in a car mode for his plane before taking to the air and following it. Sonic and Tails caught
up in no time and jumped into it while Robotnik was still speaking with the President about his demands. As Robotnik growled
at Sonic's arrival, Tails traced the message's signal back to its sending point, Ark. With this new information, Tails got
into his Tornado with Sonic and flew off to where Knuckles and Amy went, Robotnik's Earth-based fortress (Knuckles knew of
this place from the beginning of his game and sped off their with Amy to show them where it was). The importance of finding
this place is that Robotnik was sure to have at least one space shuttle ready to go into space if he was on Ark.
Upon arriving there, Tails volunteered to infiltrate the outer defenses and allow his friends safe passage into the pyramid
base. This mission was harder than releasing Sonic, but the Badniks were no match for the unconfident Tails. With access to
the base now available, Sonic led his allies throughout the construct until they came to an impassable door. It proved to
be indestructible and there was no way around it. At this time, Sonic, Tails, and Amy called on Knuckles to look around the
depths of the base to find the key to it. As the echidna reluctantly did so and inserted the key, he also took down King Boom
Boo, the ghost guarding the pyramid. Tails stood back in fear of the spirit as Knuckles disposed of it. After that, the very
man that the group was after appeared in front of them from a door far away from them. He summoned his Egg Golem, which Sonic
easily removed the control device from despite Tails' fear for his sake (he looks at things more realistically now, so he
doesn't see Sonic as able to take on everything in the world and knows that there are things that may threaten his life).
With no more opposition (Egg Golem was fighting Robotnik at this time), the group climbed aboard a space shuttle and flew
off for Ark's direction to take it down. Though Tails is an able pilot, the large collection of rock fragments floating around
Ark eventually sent a large asteroid jutting out in front of the space shuttle too suddenly for even Tails to avoid. The shuttle
was bumped by the large rock, releasing Knuckles’ collected Master Emerald fragments. Knuckles took the controls from
Tails’ control and sent the craft spiraling out of control. Luckily, everyone survived and made it aboard Ark, but Knuckles
left them to find the fragments. Despite the loss of their ally, Tails and Sonic continued their battle against Robotnik.
Using the computer built into his Tornado, Tails brought up the blue prints for the space colony and found where the Chaos
Emeralds were being held. At this time, the youthful fox revealed his “Fakeoas” Emerald (he also had his real
Emerald with him) and explained his plan to insert it into the Emerald Chamber of Ark, resulting in the Eclipse Cannon’s
destruction and Earth’s rescue. With their actions planned out, Tails and Sonic marched off side by side, leaving Amy
behind, to take down their foe. As Sonic raced off to place Tails’ Emerald into the Emerald Chamber, Tails fought his
way through the construct’s defenses of G.U.N. robots and traveled through the colony’s many rooms and gaps (open
areas in Ark that featured floating platforms in space). When Tails reached the colony’s main tower, he floated over
to its entrance and got down into its main room, the one encasing Ark’s generator. He temporarily turned the power off
after defeating the energy facility’s most internal of defenses and tinkered with it. By now, Sonic would have been
ready to complete the plan, but disaster struck when Tails was contacted via walkie-talkie by Amy. She had been captured by
Robotnik and held in one of its chambers. Robotnik demanded the female hedgehog to call for Tails. When Tails got the message,
he raced over to the room, only to find a gun’s barrel pointed at Amy’s head. Given the fact that if he did anything,
Amy would perish, Tails called for Sonic as commanded by Robotnik. The hedgehog came shortly after getting the message with
the fake Emerald. It turned out that Robotnik did indeed know that there were two more Emeralds brought aboard Ark. Seeing
as how he had six of them, he knew that one was a fake. Now all the genius had to do was manipulate his foes into surrendering
the real one. The first part of this plan involved Robotnik demanding Sonic to place the Emerald he was carrying in the center
of the room. As soon as the hero complied, intending to trick Robotnik into ruining his own scheme by placing the phony into
the chamber, he was trapped in a capsule. Robotnik acted as though he knew that the Emerald before him was fake and demanded
the real one. His ploy worked as Tails then asked how he knew that it was fake. Robotnik laughed at the child’s naivety
as Sonic became disappointed. With the information he required his, Robotnik prepared to launch Sonic into space. Before it
was too late, Sonic said a few last words to his closest friends. He told Amy to take care of herself and asked that Tails
finish this crusade against Robotnik. After he spoke these words Robotnik pressed a button and Sonic’s prison was shot
out into space. The three of them watched as the vessel exploded into a massive ball of fire. As Amy cried, Robotnik turned
to Tails and offered him the final Emerald for their guaranteed survival. However, Tails was in no mood for negotiations.
He was too overcome by shock of losing his best friend and hero while trying to refuse to believe it. At the same time, he
took it upon himself to perform the favor for Sonic and defeat Robotnik for him, even if it meant the end of himself. Before
starting what seemed to Robotnik to be the fox’s slaughter, Tails vowed to stop the mad man no matter what and that
he would not back down from his mission.
It was with this setting that Doctor Robotnik and Tails squared off, one-on-one, yet again. But unlike last time, Tails
was playing by Robotnik’s rules. It surely seemed that the young kid was way out of his league when battling machines.
However, Tails was determined to perform Sonic’s task and may even be a better pilot than what those around him give
him credit of being. Either way, missiles flew all about in that room was the two mechanical experts strove to finish the
other off. Amy hid else where in the room, lucky to not be caught in the firing. Though the battle was fierce, the room withstood
the punishment as did the combatants. For some time, the two mechs fired off projectiles and dodged others until fate seemingly
spat in the face of Doctor Robotnik yet again. Through sheer determination and even possible superior piloting skills, Miles
“Tails” Prower was able to best his mechanical rival despite being a kid going against a genius at his own game.
Doctor Robotnik collapsed after the surprising outcome. Though he believed that he had saved the world, overcome a seemingly
impossible feat, and avenged his fallen comrade, Miles was unable to express any joy in his soul. He and Amy were about to
mourn the loss of their friend until they heard his voice on the walkie-talkie again. Tails’ face lit up with unsurpassed
joy as he discovered that his friend and hero still lived (Amy was happy too, but this isn’t about her, is it?). Looking
outside the window of the room, Tails and Amy witnessed the space colony’s cannon exploding, the plan had worked…for
now. Soon after the supposed victory, Doctor Robotnik stealthily grabbed Tails’ real Chaos Emerald, which dropped during
their battle, and placed it into Ark’s core, giving the Eclipse Cannon its full power. However, things didn’t
go the way Robotnik had planned as Ark was being pushed into Earth’s direction via the energy surge from the Emeralds.
As Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Doctor Robotnik, and Rouge became aware of this, they teamed up to take down the threat that would
destroy their homes. As the combatants traveled through Ark’s defenses, it eventually came down to Sonic and Shadow
(who joined their cause thanks to persuasion from Amy) summoning the powers of the Chaos Emeralds to annihilate the Biolizard
and use Chaos Control to send Ark back to its rightful position near Earth. As the blue planet was saved again, Shadow seemingly
died and the others ventured back to their planet to resume life as usual. But things wouldn’t be the same for Tails
long after this escapade concluded.
As the eight-year-old fox resumed his life, making newer Tornados that could travel at speeds unseen in human-made planes
without using a single Chaos Emerald, his life began to feel empty. This emptiness couldn’t be filled with looking back
at his moments of triumphing over Doctor Robotnik on his own. Nor did reminiscing on the legacies of his marvelous vehicles
fill the void. At first, Tails’ dream was to be just like Sonic when he was old enough. But after maturing even more
during the Chaos charade, he began to believe that it was his goal in life was to work on the machines that held his interest
so. But after spending life without the prospect of Sonic unless a disaster occurred, the fox began to miss his hero and questioned
whether his current lifestyle could supply him with all of the happiness that he wanted. Though this troubling conundrum arose,
Miles had no time to dwell on the subject for as soon as this question popped into his mind, he received a letter, addressed
to the Sonic Heroes, from who was believed to be Doctor Robotnik. The letter announced that the mad man had concocted the
most powerful weapon of his design yet and that he was going to unleash it unto the world within three days of the letter’s
deliverance. This warning put a surge of worry through Tails’ heart as the scientist was confident enough to broadcast
his latest plan rather than keep it a secret like usual. and he set off in his latest Tornado, which was able to pilot itself
and transform into a form as seen in his Tornado 2, to the nearby Angel Island to recruit Knuckles’ help. Knuckles accepted
and rode along with Tails, in the fox’s new idea of TWO seats, to find the most intricate member of their alliance,
Sonic. Luckily, they were able to find the hedgehog within the same day that they received the letter. As Sonic finished listening
to the dancing image of his nemesis show boating, as he can’t read by my guess, Tails asked his long time mentor what
they should do, still not confident in their abilities thanks to Robotnik’s confidence in his weapon. Sonic on the other
hand showed no fear and started his latest adventure against his foe, this time with Tails and even Knuckles as permanent
team mates by his side. Tails allowed his Tornado to fly itself back to his workshop and decided to use his own physical abilities
to tackle this problem (by this time, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles had all become much faster and stronger than their initial
abilities from long ago).
As the heroes started their adventure as unassuming pawns, they desperately rushed through diverse sections of Earth in
order to find Robotnik’s base before their slim time limit was exceeded. Since they passed through more and more of
Robotnik’s newest robots (no longer Badniks and a lot tougher than the old ones), it was easy to tell that they were
going the right way. It became more and more apparent to them that they were heading for their foe’s base as “he”
popped up more and more. Though they were covering superb amounts of distance with their time, they weren’t good enough.
By the time they reached the supposed site of the ultimate weapon, the trio had but a few hours to reach it before it was
unleashed. Despite their short time limit, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles were more than able to race through the desert canyon
base and defeat “Robotnik” for what they thought would be the last time this adventure. However, this was only
the beginning. Upon the defeat of Robotnik, it was revealed that the pilot of the machine that they took out was nothing more
than a robotic dummy informing them that weapon was actually a massive air fleet. Sonic and Knuckles saw this base to be nothing
more than a distraction to get them off Robotnik’s back for long enough. Tails however, was more inquisitive as he noticed
that the fake robot was not of the usual design. But before the fox could further uncover the mystery before him, he called
for Sonic and Knuckles to wait for him as he rushed to catch up with them. As the three of them followed the fleet, the dummy
morphed into a pool of liquid metal and reshaped into a familiar form, stating that “All life form data” was copied
into its mainframe. This would later affect the heroes after they cleared the jungle (and were re-introduced to Shadow, previously
thought to be dead), chased the mysterious hedgehog and his allies through a haunted castle (Tails was scared), and finally
made it through Robotnik’s massive air-based armada. Upon making it some distance through the fleet, Sonic, Tails, and
Knuckles found themselves inside the confines of the Air Base, and aerial headquarters that dwarfed the Death Egg and Egg
Carrier combined. It was here that the Sonic Heroes believed that they finally put an end to Robotnik’s threat as they
defeated him. With the armada unmanned and mostly in ruin, the trio believed that they could finally take it easy as Sonic
took the time to run away from the lovesick Amy, cutting what might have been a premature victory party with his team mates
short. But the clouds gathered concentrated even more over the massive ship as an old foe resurfaced.
As its identity was revealed to be the once mindless lackey, now supreme commander shell of Metal Sonic made its presence
known, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles along with every other team that came to the same ship as part of Metal Sonic’s plan
regrouped to observe the new problem. Metal Sonic had acquired all of the abilities and strengths of the animals before it
and combined them, accelerated them, and utilized them to achieve a more difficult to defeat than the clash with Perfect Chaos
(which was easy for Sonic given the power balances) and Biolizard’s final hazard combined. This new, grotesque, and
giant form known as Metal Overlord. Seeing as how not even Doctor Robotnik could control his minion (he was locked in one
of his ships the whole time as Metal Sonic copied the powers of the teams and posed as him), Sonic took it upon himself to
use the Chaos Emeralds to bring it down. Upon hearing this insane plan that almost promised death, Tails spoke up boldly and
claimed that he would go with his hero to all ends to help him, no matter how grim the outlook. Knuckles then took the challenge
up while Amy denounced the idea. Despite Amy’s rejection and the slim chance of living, Sonic accepted the new mission,
while reluctantly allowing his friends to enter the risky fray, and summoned the chaotic power that he had so commonly used
before, this time giving his Chaos Emerald-challenged friends Super Shields that granted them the same powers and durability
(Tails seemingly too young or unrelated to the Chaos Emeralds to take a form). With their new powers, the threesome flew off
to have a showdown with Sonic’s assassin.
As the war pointed out, Metal Sonic has always longed to destroy Sonic as it was its primary objective. After being upgraded
by Robotnik, both physically and in terms of intelligence, it knew that fighting Sonic as it did long ago (Sonic CD) wouldn’t
work. This time, it had devised this new plan all its own to summon all of these powers and destroy his main objective and
his friends itself. The long fight also proved that one Super-charged being would pale in comparison to Metal Overlord’s
might and surely be destroyed. Despite its overwhelming power though, the combined forces of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles actually
won out over the wicked powerhouse (much to its surprise). As Metal Overlord crashed down and reverted to its primary form,
Metal Sonic feebly asked how it was possible for it to lose. Ironically, summoning all three warriors at once proved to be
its downfall as Sonic obnoxiously pointed out before Amy began to chase him. By this time, Tails delved into his thoughts
of his empty life once again and decided that what he was missing in his life was the companionship of his best friend. It
was at this time that the youngster eagerly yelled out to Sonic for him to wait for him and rejoined his old friend’s
side again as they began to roam the world side-by side once more (Knuckles came along too). With the company and friendship
of his hero in his lifestyle once more, Miles “Tails” Prower found himself in a state of happiness again, this
time greater than any other before it.
Character Summary: Tails is unlike most Sonic characters. While most take the time to showboat, this fox admires
their efforts and complements them even if he defeats them. Insults are never spewed from his mouth. In addition to not showing
off, Tails is also a very modest soul, rarely receiving complements and being overcome with embarrassment when they are given
to him. Just as he is respectable towards others, Miles is a defensive friend who will stand up for those that he holds close
in any situation. He will even go as far as towing them around in whatever vehicle he may be using or giving them advice to
stay out of harm’s way (case in point, Amy from SA2).
As you already know, Miles is a young fox at only the age of 8. Despite this rank in his life, he is more mature than most
of the characters around him. Tails is able to live on his own and goes about quite successfully as he is able to build semi-luxurious
homes. Not only does he show enough responsibility to make these houses, but he is also mature enough to clean them up regularly
while most children would moan at the thought of the chore. It is also this maturity that has led the young child to acquire
a vast intellect that he uses in creating machines regularly and identifying or messing with others. Given this knowledge
of machinery and overall intelligence is also the reasoning for the fox’s uncanny skill while piloting vehicles. Whether
it involves taking on a large battle station in the sky and its large army with only on hedgehog as the weapon , fighting,
and defeating, an even more powerful ship’s defensive forces and mind-numbing amounts and array of weaponry with a biplane,
or simply fighting through a scientific base’s high-tech security guards, some based of Chaos’ attributes, in
a walking robot, Tails is possibly the best at what you would need him to do. His skill with making and piloting these wonders
is so great that even Doctor Robotnik should be impressed by him. However, even though his technical knowledge is almost unparalleled,
his young mind is often naïve. With his youth, Tails can sometimes be tricked into spewing out vital information or other
things (as seen in SA2).
Though Tails is the most mature child his age or even anywhere near it, he also a kid at heart. His mood is always more
cheery than usual when in the company of friends and even a bit more carefree. You can see Tails enjoying the company of companions
in the manner of children as he will jump into their arms to be caught, carried, and other fancy free acts. It is also the
traces of young in the fox’s soul that lead him to do other child-like qualities. Though more intelligent and adult
than any other child, Tails still has a common fear of the paranormal. Even though Tails can fight giant robots with flame
throwers, conquer armies of metallic assassins, and even disarm nuclear holocausts without giving it a second thought, childhood
fears such as ghosts, monsters, zombies, vampires and the such send Tails into a submissive state of fear. It is only with
presence of his powerful friends, Sonic and Knuckles, the fox is still only brave enough to do avoid anything lesser than
trembling, shattering his teeth, moaning in a scared fashion, and wanting to leave the spooky place.
Tails is renowned for his intelligence and skill with machinery. But this isn’t all that there is to him. As a matter
of fact, machines are but a mere hobby of his compared to his true passion. Most of Tails’ personality is composed of
his idolization of Sonic. Indeed, Sonic is the center of his universe and almost always on his mind. Either an older brother
or even father-like figure is seen in the blue hedgehog through the fox’s eyes. Ever since he heard of Sonic’s
heroism and speed, he yearned to be exactly like him. Though his views have changed as a part of growing up, Tails still admires
Sonic for his heroic actions and everything that he has done for him. Tails has even shown as much devotion to his hero to
design vehicles after his likeness. Ever since Sonic came into Tails’ life, it was never the same again and Sonic’s
life affects Tails’ in every degree. Should Sonic become depressed, Tails will join him and try to cheer him up. Sonic’s
enemies are Tails’ enemies despite what might be a lack of formal knowledge of each other. Whatever Sonic is opposed
to Tails defies. Without Sonic around in his life, Tails would lead a truly saddened and shallow life (as seen in SA2 when
he thought he was dead). It is this idolization that has led Tails that no wrong deed can come from Sonic and that anything
he does is the right decision, regardless of overwhelming evidence that he might be wrong.
